Season 3 of Capcom’s fighting game, Street Fighter 6, will add a fan favorite fighter to the roster alongside other returning characters, based on a new rumor.
Fighting game commentator and content creator XLVCKY took to Twitter/X to share that season 3 of Street Fighter 6 will bring more returning characters to the roster, and that one of them will be either of Alex, Hugo, and Poison.

While he didn’t clarify the source of his information, given the content creator’s status as a fighting game commentator, it’s possible that he has some sources linked to Capcom. All three of Poison, Hugo, and Alex appear in the background as NPCs in Street Fighter 6. He claimed that the character is likely to be a blonde male, which suggests that Capcom is looking to add Alex to the roster.
Prior to the Summer Game Fest 2024 announcement, Reddit user Apoplexy had correctly predicted the addition of M. Bison, Elena, Terry Bogard, and Mai to the Street Fighter 6 roster via season 2. They had also predicted that Sagat, C. Viper, Alex, and either of Goku and 2B would also be added in the future. Recently, they doubled down on their earlier statement, claiming that Sagat, Alex and C. Viper will make their return in season 3
In related news, the recent update 1.016 for Street Fighter 6 brought some welcome changes to the game’s balance. Capcom has tweaked defensive moves, especially those with invincibility and low-risk mechanics, such as Jump Cancels and some Crouching Heavy Kicks. The Crouching Heavy Kick for characters like Jamie, Ken, Cammy, Akuma, and M. Bison now have increased recovery, making them more unsafe on block. The development team has also adjusted the Jump Cancel mechanic to make it less effective against normal throws, pushing players towards a more aggressive playstyle while keeping the technique fair.
