Team Asobi Teases Potential Halloween-Themed Astro Bot DLC for October

by Salal Awan

Team Asobi appears to be preparing another surprise for fans of Astro Bot (2024), hinting at what could be a Halloween-themed DLC. The studio posted a teasing message on social media saying, “Look who’s bringing thrills into October’s chills! How will you kick off this spooky season?” The post, paired with hashtags such as #ASTROBOT, #LastOfUs, and #Spooky, suggests that a special update or event might be on the way just in time for the Halloween season.

Since its launch in September 2024, Astro Bot has seen consistent post-release support through a series of free DLC packs and updates, each adding new content and expanding the game’s already vibrant universe. The developer’s commitment to community engagement has been well-documented, and the latest teaser seems to follow that same tradition of surprise content drops. While no official announcement has been made, the timing of the message hints that October may bring another themed level, similar to the “Winter Wonder” update released last December.

Following its release, the game introduced several major expansions, starting with the Stellar Speedway Galaxy, a speedrun-focused update released in October 2024. This first post-launch content featured five new levels rolled out weekly, along with ten new Special Bots, including appearances inspired by Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade. Later that year, the Winter Wonder Level provided a festive holiday experience with new collectibles and seven more Special Bots based on iconic characters like Croc, Tomba, and Rayman.

In early 2025, Team Asobi released the Vicious Void Galaxy, adding five high-difficulty challenge levels between February and March. This update not only tested players’ skills but also introduced a Time Attack Mode with online leaderboards. A second part to this galaxy followed in July 2025, adding another five levels and new Special Bots referencing characters from Final Fantasy and Ghost of Yōtei.

Given the studio’s history of themed expansions, the October teaser could indicate another seasonal update in line with past content releases. If so, players may expect a spooky, Halloween-inspired environment filled with new platforming challenges and collectible bots referencing other PlayStation franchises. While Team Asobi has yet to confirm details, its post has already sparked excitement across the community, with fans speculating about potential crossovers and new areas to explore.

With Team Asobi’s consistent record of free updates and creative seasonal content, an October release would continue the studio’s ongoing trend of keeping Astro Bot fresh and engaging. Whether this new tease leads to a full Halloween event or a smaller themed update, it is clear that the developers are not done celebrating the charm and playfulness that have made Astro Bot one of PlayStation’s standout titles in recent years.
