Previously, Tekken 8 Producer, Katsuhiro Harada, had shared that Tekken 8 will feature single-player playable modes, extra modes, and storylines. He refrained from mentioning any specific details for now, but said that he’ll be able to share more in this regard before the game’s release date. He stated that he very much value the completeness and value of the game as a whole.
He also confirmed that he doesn’t have any plans to bring guest characters in the initial roster, as it had happened with Akuma for Tekken 7. Akuma was later confirmed to be a key part of the story in the previous entry, and, therefore, wasn’t labeled as a guest character. Tekken 7 had many guest characters, including Noctics, Negan, and Geese. They went on to become some off the favorites of professional players. Tekken 8 may too eventually receive guest characters, but it’s likely to happen sometime after launch, as the development team is currently in the process of finalizing the main roster.
Tekken 8 is an upcoming fighting game co-developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Arika and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Serving as the eighth primary and tenth overall entry in the Tekken series, the game is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
