Tekken 8 Update 1.06 Confirms Photo Mode, No Balance Changes
Update 1.06 for Bandai Namco Entertainment’s fighting game, Tekken 8, will add a Photo mode to the game, though it won’t come with any balance changes.
During the latest Tekken Talk live stream hosted by Chief Director Katsuhiro Harada, Game Director Kohei Ikeda (Nakatsu), Producer Michael Muray, and Marketing Producer Yasuda, various details regarding the upcoming update 1.06 for Tekken 8 were shared by the developers. The patch will not include balance changes but will feature bug fixes and quality of life improvements. Additionally, the Seaside Resort stage will be introduced, which will showcase time-of-day changes during matches.
Furthermore, Photo Mode is officially being added in this update, with various settings, including filters and adjustment options for taking pictures. From July 26, 2024, up until the end of October, 2024, a social media campaign will be held in order encourage players to share their best photos. As has been the case with fan art, some of these photos may be featured in official Tekken broadcasts and TWT events.
After the update, players will be able to perform specials and air combos from While Standing (WS) position via Special Style. Additionally, Tekken Ball will be accessible during matchmaking rather than just in training mode. Summer cosmetics have also been confirmed for all character, and those for Lidia, Lars, Nina, Eddy, Hwo, and Alisa were shown during the stream.
The Tekken 8 development team also confirmed a revamped battle pass with a free track, which will grant players up to 100 Tekken coins. Missions have been simplified to just logging in and playing matches on a consistent basis. Additionally, a new 300 Coins pack will be offered for purchase in the Tekken shop.
In addition to details regarding update 1.06, it was also revealed that the upcoming DLC character, Lidia, will be released on July 22, 2024, for Early Access and July 25, 2024, for General Access.
