The statue revealed as part of The Game Awards 2025 teaser is reportedly for a “very cool” game that “many will be excited for.”
During the latest episode of the Triple Click podcast, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier shared some insight regarding the game Geoff Keighley recently teased with a picture of a mysterious statue for the upcoming The Game Awards 2025. According to him, the game represented by the statue is “a good one,” something he believes “a lot of people will be excited for,” including all three members of the Triple Click crew. Though he avoided giving explicit hints, his tone strongly implied the project is an unannounced title rather than something already known.
Schreier did, however, rule out several major possibilities. Initial suggestions tying the teaser to Diablo originated from Jez Corden of Windows Central, who referenced an earlier comment in which he hinted that it might be time to revisit Diablo 4, leading fans to assume the statue was part of a new expansion reveal. As speculation grew, the idea gained traction within the community, especially when circulated alongside Keighley’s cryptic post that included the phrase “regal.inspiring.thickness” and the accompanying image of the statue.
The theory collapsed when Schreier offered clarification, stating that the teaser has no relation to Diablo IV. He reaffirmed this belief during the podcast, mentioning that the statue is not tied to Diablo IV or The Elder Scrolls VI. He also addressed questions about Cory Barlog’s unannounced project at Sony Santa Monica, noting that he has no reason to believe it will appear at The Game Awards 2025, effectively removing that from the list as well.
To tighten the field further, Schreier mentioned several games he personally believes may be at the show t have been likely candidates, but emphasized that he has no insider knowledge on them. Those guesses, Tomb Raider, Control 2, and Persona 6, can also be safely ruled out. In addition, he said he doesn’t expect much presence from EA at the show, ruling out the publisher’s potential reveals.
With several possibilities ruled out, it’s likely that The Game Awards teaser may be for a new IP from a well-known developer. Either way, Schreier is confident that a lot of people will not be disappointed.
