The Last Of Us Part 3 Motion Capture May Already Be Underway

Motion capture for a possible The Last of Us Part 3 may already be underway at Naughty Dog, based on the latest information.

The actress who played the role of Dina in The Last of Us Part 2, Shannon Woodward, has shared a picture from a recent motion capture session on social media. She mentioned that the motion capture is for a “top secret video game”, along with three emojis, which may be hinting that it is for The Last of Us Part 3. As seen below, Woodward is seen in the picture alongside actor and journalist Ronan Farrow.

An alternate theory suggests that the motion capture may be for additional dialogue or cutscenes for a probable The Last of Us Part 2 Director’s Cut. Zooming in on the recording equipment indicates that it belongs to developer Cyan Worlds, Inc., which is known for working on remakes and re-releases. It’s possible that Naughty Dog may be collaborating with the studio for the development of a remastered version of The Last of Us Part II.

This is all speculation, however, and, as always, we urge our readers to take such speculation with a grain of salt until a confirmation comes via official channels.

Previous rumors regarding The Last of Us Part 3 suggested that part of the game’s plot will be about a group scavengers surviving on the outskirts of a post-apocalyptic city, crammed into a Victorian house that serves as their base. Twitter influencer Daniel Richtman claimed to have casting and story details for The Last of Us Part III, which he shared on his Patreon.

Another Twitter user by the name of ViewerAnon, who usually focuses on movie leaks, claimed that motion capture and audio recording for The Last of Us Part III would begin later this year, with Ellie having a role at least as big as she did in Part II. If Woodward’s motion capture session is actually for The Last of Us Part 3, ViewerAnon’s information would indeed be accurate.
