The Rogue Prince of Persia Launches on Switch and Switch 2

by Greg Martin

Ubisoft and Evil Empire have announced that The Rogue Prince of Persia is now available on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, expanding the game’s platform lineup and bringing its fast-paced roguelite action to handheld and hybrid players. The release follows the game’s earlier launch on Ubisoft Plus, PC, Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5.

The Nintendo Switch versions include all content from the 1.0 release, with the game optimized for portable play. Players can experience the full range of biomes, weapons, medallions, and the game’s distinctive art style while on the move. The core experience remains centered on fluid combat and momentum-driven movement, blending wall running, trap avoidance, and combo-focused encounters that reward precision and adaptability.

Each run is built around experimentation and progression, with more than 100 weapons and medallions available to unlock and master. The roguelite structure encourages players to adjust their approach over time, gradually shaping a playstyle through exploration and repeated attempts. Alongside the action, the game tells a story focused on redemption, woven into its fast-moving platforming and combat systems.

Evil Empire said the transition to Nintendo platforms was a natural step for the project, pointing to the game’s emphasis on quick sessions and replayability as a strong fit for handheld play. The studio highlighted that the Switch and Switch 2 editions were designed to preserve the speed and responsiveness that define the experience.

Physical editions of The Rogue Prince of Persia are also on the way. Publishing partner U and I Entertainment will release Standard and Immortal Editions for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 on April 10, 2026, with pre-orders now open. The Immortal Edition includes a SteelBook case with a sleeve, a double-sided poster, and a set of art cards that together form a map of the game world.

The game’s soundtrack, composed by Persian American artist ASADI, is available across major streaming platforms and on Ubisoft Music’s YouTube channel. A vinyl edition of the soundtrack is also available for pre-order through Laced Records.
