The Wonderful 101 Director Wishes for a Nintendo Switch Port

Hideki Kamiya was the creative director for The Wonderful 101, which is an exclusive for the Nintendo Wii U developed by Platinum Games. Judging from his social media reaction, he might be wishing for a Nintendo Switch port for this forgotten exclusive.

Platinum Games worked on some Nintendo Switch exclusives like Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101. While Bayonetta 2 made its way to the Nintendo Switch, The Wonderful 101 is still stuck with dead hardware. The only way to play the game right now is to buy a Nintendo Wii U or purchase the copy and emulate it on PC.

As Nintendo has brought a lot of the Nintendo Wii U games to the Nintendo Switch, they still haven’t touched some of them. The Wonderful 101 is one of these games which hasn’t received a port despite being widely demanded by the fans. One of the reasons could be its trickly implementation of the Wii U gamepad, and that is something that has to be figured out before a port.

Despite these limitations, the game director himself was seen retweeting an account which was asking for a Nintendo Switch port for The Wonderful 101. It could end up meaning nothing at all, or a simple desire that Kamiya wants to get the game on Nintendo Switch.

As far as the Nintendo Switch success is concerned, it has managed to end up becoming one of the fastest selling hardware for Nintendo and has surpassed the lifetime sales of Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 64 worldwide. If the game is ported to Nintendo Switch, it can get a second chance and maybe lead to a sequel later down the line.
