Until Dawn Update 1.06 Arrives With PS5 Pro Support, PC Patch Delayed

by Ali Haider

Until Dawn Patch 1.06, now live on PS5 and scheduled for PC release shortly, introduces significant updates, including new Performance and Fidelity modes specifically for PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro. These modes allow players to prioritize either frame rate or graphical fidelity, enhancing the overall gaming experience. The update also brings monitor-switching support for PC players, expanding the game’s usability on different setups. This patch addresses numerous issues across the game, from general performance optimizations to specific fixes for character models, animations, and scene rendering to improve both visual consistency and gameplay fluidity. Additionally, a low video memory warning has been added for PC players with configurations below the minimum requirements, helping prevent crashes.

The patch primarily targets bug fixes and optimizations that resolve a variety of issues players have encountered. These fixes include crash resolution, shader compilation improvements, and adjustments to reduce ‘soft-lock’ scenarios that disrupted game progression. Enhanced environmental lighting, fur model updates, and anti-virus interference resolutions contribute to a smoother experience. Known issues are also acknowledged, including disabled features such as FSR Frame Generation for Nvidia 40-series GPUs and Virtual Shadow Maps, which will be addressed in a future patch.
