The US tariffs appear to have increased the price of Nintendo Amiibo figures over prices in other regions, such as Canada and Australia.
On September 12, 2025, new Amiibo figures were announced during the Nintendo Direct presentation, revealing an increase in price in the US. Today, the My Nintendo Store in Europe has revealed local prices, confirming that the hike is limited to the US, likely due to the government’s tariffs. The aforementioned new Amiibos include the Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, Super Mario Galaxy and Kirby Air Riders figures. Historically, Nintendo and retailers often used a rough 1 Euro = 1 USD parity. For example, an Amiibo priced at 15 Euros would cost about 15 USD. However, the new Amiibo figures are priced higher by 10 USD than their European counterparts, even after accounting for conversion rates.

In all the above cases, Europe is seeing a consistent drop of about 10 Euros off the USD price, which is larger than typical fluctuations or VAT differences. US tariffs on imports (including on toys, electronics, and accessories) have increased the cost of goods for companies and will likely force them to raise prices. As this batch of Amiibo figures is among the first released under the newer trade/tariff policy, all signs point to it being the reason behind their price hike in the country.
