Warhorse Studios, the developer behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance and its sequel, has confirmed it was hit by a cyberattack. The Prague-based studio says it is working with cybersecurity specialists to secure its systems and investigate the incident, but has yet to disclose what happened or whether any data was compromised.
“We’re sorry to share that Warhorse Studios has been hit by a cyberattack,” the developer said in a brief statement addressed to its players and friends. The studio thanked its community for its support while it works to understand the full extent of the incident.
Warhorse has not disclosed when the attack occurred, which systems were affected or whether player information, internal files or unreleased projects were accessed. It has also provided no details about the nature of the attack, including whether it involved ransomware or data theft. No timeline has been given for the investigation.
Founded in Prague in 2011 by Dan Vávra and Martin Klíma, Warhorse Studios built its reputation on historically grounded role-playing games, with a focus on realistic medieval settings. The studio has grown to more than 300 employees and became part of PLAION, under Embracer Group, following its acquisition by Koch Media in 2019.
Its Kingdom Come series is set in early 15th-century Bohemia and includes Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. The franchise has sold tens of millions of copies worldwide.
