Xbox has shuttered the development team behind its sim racing series, Forza Motorsport, according to a former Turn 10 Studios employee.
Fred Russell, former content coordinator at Turn 10 Studios, took to Facebook to share that the studio has shuttered the Forza Motorsport space, and that the development team is no more. He expressed his sadness over these changes, and noted that the sim racing series was among the very best.

Kayla Goullaud, former community ops specialist at Turn 10, doubted Russell’s information, saying that while layoffs hit the studio in a big way, it hadn’t been shuttered. In response, Russell said that the studio remains open to support the Forza Horizon series going forward, and that it’s the Forza Motorsport side of things that has been shuttered. Goullaud followed up by saying that she knew it was coming, and that Turn 10 will likely serve as a maintenance studio from here on.
Back in December, 2023, after the launch of Forza Motorsport on October 9, 2023, the Linkedin profile of Technical Artist Rebecca Lau revealed that Turn 10 Studios had been working on an unannounced incubation project that took advantage of MetaHuman technology. Her resume stated that in-game movement realism for this project was enhanced by re-targeting motion capture data to MetaHuman rigs, ensuring a seamless and accurate representation of character motions within the game environment.
For the uninitiated, Turn 10 Studios is mainly known for its work on the sim racing game series, Forza Motorsport. The most recent entry in the series, 2023’s Forza Motorsport, is the thirteenth main installment in the series. It succeeded Forza Motorsport 7, abandoning the sequential numbering used in previous entries. The game boasts a lineup of over 500 vehicles and 800 upgrades, along with 20 newly constructed tracks, with some being new additions to the series and others returning from previous Forza Motorsport titles.
