Takahashi stated that him and his team are recruiting development staff for Monolith Soft’s brand new production in a long time. He couldn’t go into details at this time, though he said that the game’s genre is a “new RPG.” The aforementioned title is taking on many new challenges compared to previous Monolith Soft titles. He mentioned that the content to be created is becoming more sophisticated, so the studio needs many talented people, which is why he has shared the recruitment post.

For convenience, Monolith Soft has narrowed down the job types to eight, but Takahashi stated that the studio is basically looking for people in all areas. The required skill level is also all-round, from asset creation to lead. He reminded that Monolith Soft has been producing games with a small number of people compared to the scale of the titles it makes. This was something the studio was proud of, but the current situation in the gaming scene means that it can no longer continue this way. According to him, it has become commonplace to provide an efficient production environment to developers. In order to meet the ever-increasing demands of the player base, it is important to have a wide range of knowledge and horizontal connections that utilize that knowledge. Specifically within the role-playing game genre, he highlighted that each specification, such as the field, battle, characters, quests, and story, is closely linked. He said that it is difficult to work on each component independently, especially in the case of open-world games, which have become commonplace these days. The studio is looking such a production environment for the new RPG.
