Sega is preparing significant updates to its Yakuza catalog, beginning with the delisting of Yakuza 0 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam. The publisher confirmed that the original version will be removed from sale on December 8 at 08:30 am PST, marking a transition toward the newly developed Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut. Players who secure the game before 08:29 am PST on the same day will retain full access and may also qualify for an upgrade option. According to the provided details, those who own the digital PS4, Xbox One, or Steam versions before the cutoff may upgrade to the Director’s Cut for 14.99 USD, a considerable reduction compared to the standard 49.99 USD price point. The substitution extends to the Yakuza Complete Series digital bundle on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and Steam, where the Director’s Cut will take the place of the original game.

Additional changes affect the Windows 10 versions of Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2. These editions will no longer be available for new purchases on the Microsoft Store after December 8 at 09:00 am PST. Users who purchase them before 08:59 am PST will still be able to download and play the titles.

The three titles at the center of this transition, Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2, form the narrative foundation of Kazuma Kiryu’s long-running story. Each title delivers a high definition take on the series’ blend of action adventure combat set across detailed urban landscapes. The Director’s Cut of Yakuza 0 introduces several enhancements, including new cutscenes, the franchise’s first online cooperative mode titled Red Light Raid, and a complete English dub.

Sega also confirmed that all three games will launch as native PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions on December 8, 2025, with Steam releases following on December 9. The updated builds will support performance improvements and expanded language options, offering a more modern presentation across platforms. As part of the broader update, Yakuza Kiwami 2 on PS5 and Xbox Series will run at 60 FPS, giving the title a notably smoother experience than prior releases.
