Zootopia 2 is rapidly closing in on the one billion dollar mark worldwide, driven by fantastic results in major international areas, with China being a massive, unexpected engine for the film’s success. The sequel had a remarkable showing on its second Saturday in China, pulling in 417.7 million yuan, or $59.08 million, which is only a 43 percent drop from the previous Saturday. Current estimates place the film’s total for its second weekend around $120 to $121 million, which signals it has strong momentum despite having heavy competition and a crowded schedule of screenings.
Thanks to these daily earnings in China, the film’s total has now climbed to 2.78 billion yuan, letting it pass the lifetime grosses of several huge past Hollywood hits. This list includes Avengers: Infinity War at 2.39 billion yuan, Fast and Furious 7 at 2.44 billion yuan, and Fast and Furious 8 at 2.67 billion yuan. By clearing these milestones in a single day, Zootopia 2 has become the second-highest-grossing Hollywood movie ever in China, sitting only behind Avengers: Endgame at 4.25 billion yuan. Admissions have also gone past 70 million, surpassing Titanic, Infinity War, and Fast and Furious 7 to take the third spot all-time in that market. It is expected to pass Fast and Furious 8 next and is on pace to catch Endgame by the following weekend.
The film managed to hit a cumulative total of $393.6 million in China within its first ten days. It has already moved past the entire runs of Infinity War, Furious 7, and The Fate of the Furious, and is expected to cross the $400 million mark in the market, a feat only one other Hollywood movie has ever achieved. Strong spontaneous ticket sales remain a key factor, with most of the second Saturday purchases happening during the day rather than through pre-sales.
The movie is also performing extremely well in Japan. Its Saturday total reached $5.3 million, making it the third-biggest Saturday result for a Hollywood release in the post-pandemic era and the strongest Saturday ever recorded for a Disney animated title in the area. This pushed the film’s two-day total to $8.1 million. Audience feedback continues to be very positive, holding a 4.3 rating, which is higher than several past Disney animated releases.
In South Korea, Zootopia 2 earned an estimated $3.75 million on Saturday, bringing its eleven-day total to $22.4 million after seeing a moderate drop from its first Saturday.
The film, which premiered on November 26, 2025, sees Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde return to investigate a new case involving a reptile named Gary De Snake and a stolen artifact linked to the city’s beginning. As their search takes them into Zootopia’s hidden corners, they are forced to deal with issues of forgotten history and prejudice while also managing internal tensions in their working partnership.
