IO Interactive has released the new 007 First Light path tracing update, bringing full path-traced lighting, shadows, and reflections to the PC version alongside NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction. The update is available now and expands the game’s existing suite of NVIDIA technologies.
The update adds path tracing and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction to 007 First Light, following the game’s launch with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. According to IO Interactive, the new features are designed to improve visual detail across the game’s environments and set pieces while helping GeForce RTX hardware maintain higher frame rates.
With path tracing enabled, lighting, reflections, and shadows are rendered using a more comprehensive ray-traced approach. IO Interactive says this makes the game’s visuals more detailed and cinematic, with the latest update bringing the title’s lighting to a fully path-traced implementation on compatible GeForce RTX PCs and laptops.
DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is also part of the update. The technology is intended to improve the quality of ray-traced imagery, working alongside the game’s existing DLSS features to balance image quality and performance.
The update continues IO Interactive’s collaboration with NVIDIA, which began with the announcement of 007 First Light’s PC specifications in January 2026. The developer has also made significant changes to its proprietary Glacier engine for the new James Bond game, with improvements supporting its cinematic presentation, action sequences, character performances, and environments.
007 First Light follows James Bond during his early career as an MI6 recruit. The game presents a new take on Bond’s origins, with players following the character through his training and early missions as he develops into the agent he will eventually become.
007 First Light is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. The Deluxe Edition is also being offered at a 20 percent discount on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
