Creative Assembly and SEGA have officially unveiled Alien: Isolation 2, confirming the long-awaited sequel to the acclaimed 2014 survival horror game during Summer Game Fest 2026.
The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer that offered the first glimpse of the next chapter in the Alien: Isolation series. While the sequel introduces a new setting, story, and protagonist, Creative Assembly says it remains committed to the intense survival horror gameplay that made the original title a fan favorite. Players will once again find themselves hunted by the iconic Xenomorph, with the studio promising an even more dangerous and unpredictable experience.
Alien: Isolation 2 takes place on a remote colony world battered by violent storms. The hostile environment extends beyond the alien threat itself, forcing players to contend with harsh weather conditions as they explore the planet’s surface and venture into the confined corridors of Kurosaki Station, a Weyland-Yutani outpost that serves as one of the game’s primary locations.
According to the developers, the new setting creates fresh opportunities for survival-focused gameplay. The Xenomorph returns as the central threat, stalking players throughout the adventure and turning the colony world into a deadly hunting ground. To survive, players will need to adapt to new situations by utilizing a range of tools, tactics, and improvised solutions while navigating the constant tension of being pursued.
Creative Assembly also revealed that the sequel is being designed as an evolution of the original game’s formula. The studio aims to build upon the cat-and-mouse gameplay that defined Alien: Isolation by making the Xenomorph more intelligent and dangerous while introducing harsher environmental challenges.
Creative Director Al Hope reflected on the return of the series, noting that more than a decade has passed since the original game launched. He stated that the development team has been focused on creating an evolved Isolation experience that continues the legacy of both the franchise and the Alien universe, while increasing the difficulty and unpredictability of survival.
The original Alien: Isolation earned widespread praise for its atmosphere, sound design, and relentless AI-driven Xenomorph, becoming one of the most respected survival horror games of its generation. The announcement of a sequel is likely to be welcomed by fans who have been waiting years for a continuation of the series.
Alien: Isolation 2 is currently available to wishlist on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. Creative Assembly also confirmed that Nintendo Switch 2 wishlist support will be added at a later date. A release window has not yet been announced.
