Remedy Entertainment has reportedly started to work in full production on an alleged sequel for Alan Wake 2 in partnership with Epic Games.

Alan Wake was a brand new IP from Remedy Entertainment that was released as an exclusive to the Xbox 360. It was followed by a small spin-off, American Nightmare. There was never a proper sequel to the game until rumors started around it recently.

Remedy Entertainment is currently working with Epic Games on multiple projects. One of these is a large-scale AAA production while the other is smaller in size. The large-scale project is Alan Wake sequel, according to multiple rumors. There is also a report that suggests that Remedy is working on a remaster of the first Alan Wake.

In this investors report, they mentioned that their partnership with Epic Games is progressing smoothly. “Remedy’s AAA game project with Epic Games has moved into full production, and a second, smaller-scale game remains in full production mode, ” says the report. “Vanguard, our free-to-play co-op game project, is still progressing at a good pace, with selected internal and external closed gameplay tests.”

While Alan Wake wasn’t a financial success, it did manage to gather a cult following and still does today. The gaming landscape has changed a lot in the past few years so a project of this caliber does carry some potential now, but we have to wait and see if this rumor is true, or just hearsay.
