Metro Exodus Rated For PS5 and Xbox Series, Runs at 4K/60 FPS With Ray-Tracing

Metro Exodus has been rated for the PS5 and Xbox Series which signifies a release date for this upcoming update is due soon.

Koch Media has passed Metro Exodus for a rating in Taiwan where the game was updated with a new rating for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. 4A Games, who are the developers behind Metro series, had shared an update on the ray-tracing support for PC and the PS5 and Xbox Series support back in February. They had set a release window for Spring 2021 for this update.

According to 4A Games, “Metro Exodus will run at 4K / 60FPS with full Ray Traced lighting throughout on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The base game and DLC expansions will feature both our ground-breaking Ray Traced Global Illumination (RTGI) and the Ray Traced Emissive Lighting techniques pioneered in The Two Colonels expansion across all content.”

Now we finally have a rating from the Taiwan Game Rating Board just like Genshin Impact. This rating signifies that this upgrade is due soon and we might get a release date announcement from Koch Media and 4A Games.

In their blog post, Koch Media also mentioned some of the additional features that will be offered in Metro Exodus.

“The next gen consoles will benefit from dramatically reduced loading times thanks to our use of their SSD storage optimizations, boast 4K texture packs, and a range of platform specific features including spatial audio and controller latency improvements on Xbox, and support for the haptic features of the PlayStation 5 Dual Sense controller – anyone who’s frantically tried to pump up the pressure on their Tikhar in the middle of a pitched battle will be able to imagine the kind of thing we’re aiming for!”

In addition to the PS5 and Xbox Series X support, Xbox Series S will also benefit from 1080p at 60 FPS with ray-tracing just like the other current-generation consoles.
