Monster Hunter Rise PC vs. Nintendo Switch comparison video gives us a glimpse at how the PC version stacks against Nintendo’s hybrid console.
Just like Monster Hunter Stories 2, the biggest difference appears to be related to the frame rate. The PC version can run it at an unlocked frame rate going above and beyond 60 FPS while the Nintendo Switch is stuck at 30 FPS.
As the comparison highlights, even side-by-side still, you won’t find that much of a major visual difference between both versions aside from the resolution. The texture quality, shadows, and resolutions do help make the PC version look a lot cleaner and sharper, but the Switch has the benefit of being a portable console as well.
The game also supports high-resolution textures on PC. It has a greater draw distance and other post-process visual effects that are not present on the Nintendo Switch version.
The game was confirmed to arrive on PC in January 2021, or less than a year after the release of the Nintendo Switch version. Just like Monster Hunter World received Iceborne there is a major expansion planned for MH Rise that will be out in Summer 2022.
While the PC version is not out yet, you can grab the demo for the game on Steam. On the other hand, you can play the full game on the Nintendo Switch.
