Mortal Kombat 11 Won’t Get Shaggy As a Guest Character According To The Devs

Shaggy from Scooby Doo in Mortal Kombat 11 is not going to be a reality as the developers have confirmed they don’t have any plans to add him as a guest character.

Shaggy is in the headlines due to his character from the Scooby Doo movies emerging from the past as a meme. This gave some of the fans a chance to ask for Shaggy in Mortal Kombat 11 and they created a petition for this purpose. While most of the petitions that are created this way are useless, this one ended up getting a decent amount of attraction and even caught the attention of the developer NetherRealm Studios.

Ed Boon, who is the head of the studio at NetherRealm, tweeted out an image that looked like it was from in-game and featured Shaggy fighting against Scorpion. It was obviously a fan-made attempt at bringing Shaggy to Mortal Kombat 11 but some took it as a sign that he will be indeed added to the game.

During a recent Livestream at Inside Xbox and after the character reveal for Kabal, the developers confirmed that Shaggy is never going to be added as a guest character no matter how much the fans demand his addition to the fighter roster. They also announced D’Vorah as one of the fighters that are returning in Mortal Kombat 11. Unfortunately for fans of Shaggy, he is not going to make the cut.

In other news, Mortal Kombat 11 fighter roster can be seen here. The game is getting a Collector’s Edition which feels rather expensive for its asking price. Mortal Kombat 11 Season Pass will apparently offer six more fighters but details around them aren’t confirmed yet.
