Sony has released another PS5 firmware update 20.02.02.26 today. This new firmware should be available to download now for all regions.
There are no known notes for this update on the official Sony website. If you want to manually download it and install it through USB, the update file is available here. The new update size is under 900 MB.
Update: Sony has updated the support website and released the official changelog for this firmware update.
- This system software update improves system performance.
- An issue where installed disc versions of games were sometimes deleted was resolved.
- An issue that prevented the PS5 wireless controller from being charged while in rest mode when connected to the PS5’s front side USB Type-A port using the USB cable included with some PS5 consoles was resolved.
If you were facing any of these issues, they might be resolved now.

In the case of the last two firmware updates, they were for improving system performance and resolving the download queue issue on the PlayStation 5.

This system software update improves system performance.
An issue where users couldn’t download games because only the “Queued for Download” or “View Details” option was displayed was resolved. If you encounter this issue, update the system software to the latest version, and then try starting your PS5 in safe mode to rebuild the database.
Version 20.02-02.25.00
Judging from the small increment in the system software version, this is another update that is for stability and performance improvements. We won’t know until more users are able to test it out.
