Redd is not available every day. He has his special visits to the Island like we see with Flick and CJ. On the day he does visit the Island, you can find him wandering around the beaches. You can go to his boat by talking to him. You will be offered a sinking painting on your first visit to Redd’s boat. This can cost you 4900 bells so get it and donate to Blathers to construct a new museum.

You can locate Jolly Redd’s shop by heading to the small beach on the back of the Island. If Redd is visiting the Island, he will be found there. You need to open the art gallery before Redd is able to visit your Island and open his shop.
