Aquaman is continuing its record-breaking run internationally. The movie has now made more than Justice League, Wonder Woman, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and more.
Aquaman was a box office juggernaut in China where it is heading towards a record-breaking run. It is already the top-grossing DC Extended Universe movie in China and will continue its run there after getting an extension. Internationally, the movie is also doing really well compared to its competitors released by Marvel that includes Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: Winter Soldiers, Doctor Strange, and both Ant-Man movies.
Aquaman can end up becoming the new champion for DC Extended Universe because it is now just behind Superman vs. Batman: Dawn of Justice. It is ahead of Justice League and Wonder Woman in the international box office.
$20M intl WED for #Aquaman boosting intl total to fantastic $473.6M. Intl #boxoffice has already surpassed #WonderWoman, #FantasticBeasts2, #JusticeLeague, #DoctorStrange, #WinterSoldier, #AntMan 1 & 2, and #GOTG with plenty more to come. Global now $596.2M. Crushing $600M today.

It won’t be surprising to see the movie making north of $800 million by the end of its box office run. It still has a lot more to do in the domestic market where the box office stands at $105 million with more to come during the holidays. It can end up making as much as $300 million from there depending on how well it holds up after the new year.
It will be interesting to see where Warner Bros. Interactive takes Aquaman next after such a great performance. The film was directed by James Wan and stars Jason Momoa and Amber Heard.
