ARC Raiders will introduce a PvE matchmaking toggle for a limited beta test running from October 13 to October 20, allowing players to switch between the standard PvPvE experience and dedicated PvE servers. The test begins at 11:00 CEST on October 13 and ends at 11:00 CEST on October 20, with developer Embark Studios gathering player feedback before deciding how the option could develop in the future.
PvE servers will disable damage between players, and throwable items, including stun and fire-based equipment, will no longer affect other players. However, physical interaction items such as barricades and ziplines will continue to work normally. Loot value will also be reduced, while matchmaking will be less likely to separate players based on squad size, meaning groups of different sizes will encounter one another more frequently.
The PvE option will not be available during certain major map conditions, including Night Raid, Locked Gate, Hidden Bunker, Frigate, and Redirection. ARC enemies will also retain the ability to reacquire downed players after an eight-second grace period. Players who move after this period may attract enemy attention.
Embark Studios has warned that matchmaking times could increase in regions with fewer active players and during quieter hours. The developer will monitor the situation throughout the test to assess its impact on session quality. Standard matchmaking rules will also remain in place for PvPvE sessions, allowing the team to compare how the new option affects the existing experience before considering broader matchmaking changes.
The developer is asking players with different preferences to participate in the test and share their experiences. Those primarily interested in PvE are encouraged to explain which aspects work well and what needs improvement, while players who prefer the traditional PvPvE mode are also being asked to report whether the toggle affects their sessions.
Once the test ends on October 20, players will receive a survey where they can provide more detailed feedback and share their thoughts on the future of PvE matchmaking in ARC Raiders.
