Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Upcoming Expansion Reportedly Adds 10+ Hours of Playtime

The Steam page for Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been updated with new details about the game’s first expansion, Claws of Awaji. Fans can look forward to an exciting addition that expands the game’s narrative and gameplay. The expansion promises over ten hours of new content, a new weapon type, and a fresh location to explore.

Set for release later in 2025, Claws of Awaji takes players to a mysterious island full of danger and hidden treasures. The new content introduces the Bō, a traditional Japanese weapon, offering unique combat opportunities. Players will face traps and ambushes from formidable new enemies while unraveling a captivating story. Pre-ordering the game includes the bonus quest, Thrown to the Dogs, available at launch, in addition to the Claws of Awaji expansion.

Ubisoft has also detailed the Digital Deluxe Edition for Assassin’s Creed Shadows This edition includes the base game along with exclusive in-game items such as the Sekiryu Dual Pack, featuring unique gear and weapon sets for the protagonists Naoe and Yasuke. Additionally, players will gain access to the Sekiryu Hideout Pack, which offers customizable ornaments for their shinobi league’s headquarters, and five mastery points to enhance character abilities.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes players to Feudal Japan, combining the skills of a shinobi Assassin with the might of a legendary samurai. The game allows players to switch between two protagonists as they navigate a rich, open-world setting filled with chaos and intrigue.

Scheduled for release on March 20, 2025, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, macOS, and iPadOS. Ubisoft has not yet disclosed the official PC requirements for the game. Note that the release was recently delayed from its original planned date in February to March 20, 2025.
