Romancing Halsin in bear form in the game involves various decisions and interactions that largely occur during Acts 1, 2, and 3.

How To Romance The Bear (Halsin) In Baldur’s Gate 3

Follow the steps outlined below in order to embark on a meaningful romance with the bear.

Act 1

1. Make sure to rescue Halsin in the Goblin Camp/Shattered Sanctum
2. Choose to save the Tiefling refugees rather than betraying them to Minthara’s forces
3. When you have the opportunity to converse with Halsin, always offer friendly, supportive, and positive responses
4. Welcome him to your camp, even though he won’t join as a party member right away

Act 2

1. Make sure to keep Isobel the Cleric alive in Last Light Inn
2. Be mindful of decisions related to the Dark Urge and Nightsong, as they could lead to the destruction of the inn and the death of its inhabitants, potentially derailing your chance to recruit Halsin, let alone romance him
3. In Last Light Inn, talk to the sleeping man and inform Halsin about it. This initiates a lengthy quest chain involving finding a child named Thaniel, who Halsin is seeking

5. After successfully completing the battle, Halsin will be available to join your party permanently

Act 3

1. After arriving at Wyrm’s Crossing, rest in your camp a couple of times in order to trigger a series of cutscenes
2. When trying to rest, Halsin should want to speak with you. Pick the following dialogue choices:
   • “What are you saying exactly?”
   • “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested – but I’m already in a relationship.”
   • “You just want to share? What do you mean?”
   • “I will speak with [your current lover]”
3. Speak with your current lover, using the following dialogue choices:
   • “I wanted to talk to you about us, and exclusivity in our relationship.”
   • “He’s open-minded and willing to share… as long as you are.”
4. This will trigger another scene with Halsin when you next attempt to rest. Pick the following dialogue choices here:
   • “Why, is the big, strong Archdruid Halsin nervous? Adorable.”
   • “Of course, what do you think I’m here for?”
   • “Don’t apologize. I like it.”
   • “Yes, change back again. Let me have the beast… and the beast have me.”

If followed correctly, the above steps should lead to a romance scene between you and Halsin in bear form.
