Bayonetta 3 Releases On October 28, 2022, Features Optional Censorship

The release date for Bayonetta 3 has finally been announced, and we’re delighted to report that the game is set to hit store shelves on October 28, 2022. Twitter user Sylux had previously hinted at this announcement.

The release date announcement for Bayonetta 3 came via a brand new trailer that featured new gameplay footage as well as some hints regarding the story. The trailer shows Bayonetta taking on the Homunculi in a bewitching battle. A new witch named Viola is also see, and it is hinted that she may be another Bayonetta!

In addition to the release date announcement and trailer, it was also announced that the game will feature a “Naive Angel” mode. By enabling this mode, players can possibly experience the game without any awkward atmosphere in the living room. It essentially an optional feature that will cut down on the Risqué scenes. A video showing how the “Naive Angel” mode compares with the regular mode can be seen in the tweet below.

Much like its predecessors, Bayonetta 3 is an action packed hack and slash game where players command the titular Bayonetta, who uses a combination of physical assaults and gunplay to take down numerous foes. When Bayonetta avoids an opponent assault at the last second, she enters a condition known as “Witch Time,” in which time slows down and foes become easier to strike continuously or move in real-time to solve environmental puzzles.

The “Demon Slave” and “Demon Masquerade” mechanics are exclusive to this game, and the former differs from the previous Climax Summon and Umbran Climax features in the first two games by allowing players to directly control one of Bayonetta’s Infernal Demons to perform various attacks and special abilities, some of which are advantageous to specific scenarios depending on the demon being controlled. The latter, however, gives Bayonetta the ability to immediately merge with an Infernal Demon that has been called, giving her access to magic-based skills.
