Ubisoft’s upcoming action-adventure game, Beyond Good and Evil 2, will allegedly be re-announced under a new title, possibly at The Game Awards 2026.
In his latest video, content creator Attack The Backlog (via IdleSloth84_ on Twitter/X) mentioned hearing new details on Beyond Good and Evil 2 from Nintendo insider Nash Weedle during a recent podcast appearance, suggesting that the game may have received a major overhaul since it was last shown to the public.
According to the insider, Beyond Good and Evil 2 will no longer retain its existing name, though the new title has not yet been revealed. He also claimed that many changes have been made to the game since it was last shown to the public. In addition to the alleged title change, he also believes Beyond Good and Evil 2’s recent build may be shown at The Game Awards 2026.
Weedle also discussed the possibility of Beyond Good and Evil 2 coming to Switch 2. According to him, the game is being developed on “an engine that is extremely, extremely scalable,” suggesting that while a port may not be in active development, there would be no technical hurdle in getting it to run on Nintendo’s current-gen console.

Back in December, 2024, during an interview, series creator Michel Ancel shared details regarding the issues faced by Ubisoft Montpellier during the development of Beyond Good & Evil 2. He described the project as one where a passionate development team set itself huge challenges, but without knowing how long and complex the road ahead would be. According to him, there were too many problems between those in charge of development. He elaborated that the art director wanted to redo everything over and over again, the game director wanted to make a procedurally generated dungeon title, and he himself had envisioned a space adventure.
