Black Myth: Wukong may soon be available on Xbox Series consoles. Developed by Game Science, the game recently received a new rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), which lists it for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series platforms.
Initially, Game Science delayed the Xbox Series version of Black Myth: Wukong, leading to rumors about a possible exclusivity deal with PlayStation. However, this speculation has since been cleared up. There were also suggestions that the delay might be due to technical difficulties, particularly memory leak issues on Xbox Series consoles, which could have contributed to the postponement. Despite these setbacks, the new ESRB rating strongly indicates that the game is finally ready to launch on Xbox Series consoles.
In addition to the potential Xbox release, Black Myth: Wukong is rumored to be getting downloadable content (DLC) after its launch. The first DLC is expected to arrive in January 2025. Game Science may plan to release these expansions alongside the upcoming Xbox Series version, providing a better experience for new players.
According to the ESRB rating, Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG where players take on the role of a monkey warrior on a quest to recover powerful relics. Players will explore a richly detailed fantasy world and engage in intense melee combat against various enemies, including monks and mythical creatures. The combat is action-packed and features the use of a staff, magic spells, and the ability to transform into different creatures for additional attacks. Battles are often fast-paced and include visual effects such as slow-motion sequences and blood splatters.
The rating also notes that some environments in the game contain graphic elements, such as bloodstains and animal carcasses. Additionally, there is a scene showing a headless character, and another sequence features a female character with partially exposed breasts.
Currently, Black Myth: Wukong is available for PC and PlayStation 5, and with the new ESRB rating, it is expected to be released on Xbox Series consoles soon.
