Capcom is planning on releasing multiple new major titles within this fiscal year. Capcom mentioned in several of its slides in its Fiscal Year 2021/2022 Report Presentation that it would release numerous significant new titles this fiscal year, and we have numbers for their projected SKUs and sales.
The company plans to release 45 SKUs this fiscal year, more than doubling their output from the previous fiscal year and the most in three years. They’re looking to sell 37M units, 7M of which are from Japan, which has outperformed its previous two years thanks to titles like Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil Village. Sales projections for the new titles is $10 million, which is also higher than the previous two years’ performance.
Thus far, the games Capcom has confirmed to be releasing within this Fiscal Year are Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak ( NSW/PC ), Capcom Fighting Collection (NSW/PC/PS4/PS5/X1/XS), Resident Evil 2/3/7 Next Gen Upgrade (PC/PS5/XS), Resident Evil Verse ( PC/PS4/X1), Resident Evil Village DLC ( Supposedly PC/PS4/PS5/X1/XS), and Capcom 2nd Arcade Stadium ( NSW/PC/PS4/X1).
The company has also announced Exoprimal (PC/PS5/PS4/XS/XB1), Pragmata (PC/PS5/XS), and Street Fighter 6 (platform N/A), but a release date has yet to be confirmed for any of them.
Capcom has yet to confirm the existence of a Resident Evil 4 Remake. However, given how Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 4 have all received remakes, it’s only natural that the most popular game in the series i.e. Resident Evil 4, will get a remake as well. It may happen this Fiscal Year, and Capcom may be holding back the announcement for a major event.
Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, Mega Man, Devil May Cry, Dead Rising, and Marvel vs. Capcom are among Capcom’s most financially successful gaming brands. It was founded in 1979 and has since grown into a global corporation with subsidiaries in Asia, Europe, and North America.
