Konami may be teasing a Castlevania 3D collection featuring several games from the franchise’s 3D era. As spotted by a ResetEra user, a recent video from Konami ends with a hallway displaying references to four Castlevania titles, including Lament of Innocence, Curse of Darkness and Lords of Shadow.
The four games highlighted are Belmont’s Curse, which is already scheduled for release, alongside Lament of Innocence, Curse of Darkness and Lords of Shadow. The appearance of the latter three has prompted speculation that Konami could be preparing a collection focused on the franchise’s 3D titles.
Which Games Could Be Included?
Lament of Innocence was released for PlayStation 2 in 2003 and explored the origins of the Vampire Killer whip. Its follow-up, Curse of Darkness, launched in 2005 for PlayStation 2 and Xbox, introducing a Devil Forging system that allowed players to create and develop supporting creatures.
Lords of Shadow represents another major stage in Castlevania’s transition to 3D. Developed by MercurySteam, the 2010 action game rebooted the series and was followed by Lords of Shadow 2 and the spin-off Mirror of Fate.
The combination of these titles is unusual, particularly because other Castlevania games are absent from the hallway. This has led to questions about whether the highlighted games are simply part of a broader celebration of the franchise or could point towards a future collection.
A potential 3D collection would also leave the Nintendo 64 Castlevania games, including Castlevania and Legacy of Darkness, without a modern compilation. It remains unclear whether those games could eventually be included as additional titles in a future release.
Konami has previously released several Castlevania collections, including the Castlevania Anniversary Collection, Castlevania Advance Collection and Castlevania Dominus Collection. However, the company has not confirmed that a Castlevania 3D collection is currently in development.
