CI Games Confirms Game Awards Teaser Is Not Lords of the Fallen 2

by Salal Awan

CI Games has clarified speculation surrounding a mysterious statue teased for The Game Awards 2025, confirming that the image circulating online is not connected to Lords of the Fallen or its upcoming sequel. The statement came directly from CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski, who addressed the growing theory that the dark fantasy statue might hint at Lords of the Fallen 2. His response ended the rumor while reinforcing that the studio is preparing its own announcements independent of the teaser.

Tyminski wrote that while the team was flattered by the attention, the statue had nothing to do with CI Games. He remarked, “Flattered so many think we’re behind that statue. Can confirm it’s not us, we’re just as hyped as you are. Devs are praying it’s something FROM.” He added that the studio admires FromSoftware’s work and hopes to reach that level one day. Tyminski then teased news for both Lords of the Fallen and its sequel, saying the team had listened to fan feedback and was preparing to show more soon. He thanked the community for the response to the August trailer and noted that the next reveal will “step it up again.”

Lords of the Fallen 2 continues the series’ signature Soulslike structure with a story set one hundred years after the original, following the canon Umbral ending. Developed by CI Games’ internal studio Hexworks, the sequel expands the dual realm system between Axiom and Umbral and pushes for darker world-building and more elaborate combat options. Unveiled at Gamescom 2025, it is set for release in 2026 on PC through the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The clarification from CI Games arrives amidst broader speculation around the statue teased by The Game Awards. According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, the statue represents a new unannounced game that he believes many viewers will be excited for. Schreier ruled out several theories, explicitly stating the teaser has no connection to Diablo IV, The Elder Scrolls VI, or Sony Santa Monica’s unannounced project.
