Sandfall Interactive and Kepler Interactive have released a free update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, adding full Arabic user interface and subtitle localisation to the acclaimed turn-based RPG.
The new language option comes after strong demand from the game’s community and increases the total number of supported languages to 20. According to the developers, implementing Arabic support required extensive changes to the game’s interface to accommodate right-to-left text and provide a seamless experience for Arabic-speaking players.
Lead Writer and Voice and Localization Producer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen said the localisation had been in development for almost a year with support from partners Riotloc and Qloc. She added that the team had received many messages from Arabic-speaking fans and was pleased to finally make the feature available.
QA Coordinator Naja Dalmagne also highlighted the amount of work involved, noting that the project included localisation, interface redesign and extensive testing across multiple teams. She said the goal was to make the game’s story feel even more personal and accessible to Arabic-speaking players.
Alongside the new language support, the update also introduces a range of bug fixes and gameplay improvements. Full patch notes are available on the game’s Steam page.
Originally released in April 2025, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set in a fantasy world inspired by France’s Belle Époque era. The game combines reactive turn-based combat with extensive character customisation and an explorable world map filled with optional content and secrets.
Sandfall Interactive also confirmed that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has now sold more than 8 million copies worldwide. The title has also received numerous industry accolades, including Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025, Best Game at the 22nd British Academy Video Game Awards (BAFTAs), Game of the Year at the True Gaming Awards 2025, and Grand Game of the Year at the Grand Game Awards 2025.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via GOG, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
