Additionally, it is stated in Schadt’s resume that Toys for Bob’s Spyro Reignited Trilogy has sold 10 million copies to date. It is also an impressive number that bodes well for the future of the series as well as for 3D platformers.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was originally released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October, 2020. Later, it became available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows in 2021. Serving as the eighth main installment in the Crash Bandicoot series, the game’s plot focuses on Crash Bandicoot and Coco, as they aim to thwart Doctor Neo Cortex and Doctor Nefarious Tropy from seizing control of the multiverse by retrieving the powerful Quantum Masks. They receive indirect assistance from Dingodile and an alternate-dimension version of Tawna. The game features levels set across ten “Dimensions,” each with its unique theme. Players can switch between controlling Crash or Coco at any point on a linear map.

The game maintains the series’ traditional platforming gameplay while introducing new mechanics through the Quantum Masks, which can modify levels and aid in overcoming obstacles. It offers additional game modes for replay value and allows players to control five characters, each with their own unique gameplay and levels, including Cortex, Dingodile, and Tawna. The development team aimed for continuity with the original trilogy in both story and gameplay, introducing the Quantum Masks and additional playable characters to refresh the gameplay while staying true to the series’ mechanics.
