Bloober Team has officially unveiled Cronos: Lazarus, a new story expansion for Cronos: The New Dawn that is scheduled to launch in Fall 2026.
The DLC takes players back to the wastelands of New Dawn and shifts the focus to the Warden, one of the key figures from the base game. Set during his transformation from a Pathfinder into the Warden players know, the expansion explores a previously unseen chapter of the character’s story.
According to the developer, the Warden has become isolated within the Terminal and cut off from the Collective. Driven by a personal mission, he devotes himself to reviving a lost Essence while attempting to evade a deadly new threat sent to eliminate him.
Cronos: Lazarus introduces a more aggressive style of gameplay compared to the base game. While Cronos: The New Dawn emphasized careful encounters and measured combat, the expansion is designed around faster movement, heavier offensive capabilities, and the tools available to one of the Collective’s elite agents.
Players will gain access to new traversal and combat abilities, including teleportation, decoy deployment, and temporary invisibility. These abilities will be essential for surviving increasingly dangerous encounters and navigating the DLC’s harsher challenges.
A major focus of the expansion is a new adversary created specifically to hunt the Warden. Bloober Team describes the pursuer as highly adaptive and capable of matching the protagonist’s strength, leading to large-scale cinematic battles throughout the campaign.
The story will also delve deeper into the Warden’s past as players uncover fragments of his history and pursue the mysterious Lazarus Protocol. Throughout the expansion, players will be forced to decide how far they are willing to go in defiance of the Collective to complete their mission.
Cronos: Lazarus is scheduled to launch in Fall 2026 as a story expansion for Cronos: The New Dawn. Further details, including pricing and an exact release date, have not yet been announced.
