Bandai Namco has released a new gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, giving fans a closer look at the game’s setting, characters, and combat systems ahead of its planned 2027 launch.
The latest entry arrives 10 years after the previous game in the series and introduces players to AGE 1000, a brand-new era in the Dragon Ball universe created by Akira Toriyama. The new trailer, titled Welcome to West City, offers an early look at the game’s central location and the adventures awaiting players in this unexplored chapter of the franchise.
Set in the bustling city of West City, players will create their own protagonist and take on the role of a hero in a world filled with familiar faces and new characters. The trailer features appearances from Bulma and Gamma 1, who welcomes players into the Great Saiya Squad while providing a glimpse of life at West City University.
Alongside well-known Dragon Ball characters, Xenoverse 3 will introduce several original characters making their first appearance in the franchise. These include Brett, Lilica, ROM, and Tap, who will play a role in the story unfolding throughout AGE 1000.
The new footage also highlights expanded combat mechanics. Players will once again be able to fly across battlefields and unleash powerful Ki-based attacks, but several new systems are being introduced to add more depth to battles.
One of these additions is the Soul Assist system, which allows players to perform powerful attacks together with allies from across the Dragon Ball universe. Another new feature, Soul Switch, lets players temporarily tap into the soul of iconic characters including Krillin, Piccolo, Vegeta, Future Trunks, and Tien. Doing so grants new abilities and additional power during combat encounters.
Bandai Namco says more information on Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 will be shared in the coming months.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is currently scheduled to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam.
