Dying Light 2 Last and Current-Generation Console Gameplay Video
Techland has shared the first look at Dying Light 2 running on the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PS5 in a new gameplay video.
Dying Light 2 gameplay and trailer footage so far has been captured from a PC but what about the console versions? In a short glimpse video that was shared by Techland, we can see the PS4, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, and PS5 version of DL2 in action.
You can see the gameplay video that is just under one minute in the latest development footage below. It starts from the 6:00 mark but we have already shared a link with the timestamp below.
Techland hasn’t confirmed the resolution and frame rate for Dying Light 2 on the last and current-generation consoles. What we do know is that the game will run at 60 FPS on the current-generation consoles, which means the PS5 and Xbox Series X version will offer this support, and possibly Xbox Series S too. The footage shared by Techland appears to confirm that this is the case as well. The gameplay is smoother on the Xbox Series X and PS5.
We don’t know the resolution for these platforms, but if we had to take a guess, they might be dynamic 4K on the current-generation consoles. As for the PS4 and Xbox One, we take a look at Dying Light 1 to have a better idea.
The game will run at 30 FPS on these consoles but with a lower resolution as well. Visuals will be downgraded too, but that should be obvious considering these are more than 8 years old by now. If we had to guess here, the game might run at 900p on the PS4 and 720p on the Xbox One, possibly with a dynamic resolution setup.
Dying Light 2 is out on February 4, 2022, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. It will also release for Nintendo Switch through Cloud streaming.
