Konami has clarified that the upcoming eFootball 2021 early access launch is basically a demo that will continue to get new content.
eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2021 is a brand new game from Konami that will replace their yearly Pro Evolution Soccer games. It will launch as an early access game with limited modes and teams. As explained by Konami on the official game’s account, this is a demo that will be updated with new content.
Q: Is “Early Autumn” launch basically a demo?
A: In many ways, yes. We want people to get hands-on with eFootball™ as soon as possible, so we will launch with a limited number of teams and modes. Exact details to follow.

Keep in mind that Konami is also planning to launch a free-to-play version of the eFootball PES 2021 on Smartphones. There were some concerns that Konami will dumb down the visuals and attempt to use the Mobile assets on the consoles, but they have also addressed this question in a FAQ that was posted on the game’s Twitter account.
“eFootball™ is developed first for consoles but is a platform for everyone to enjoy. The game will take full advantage of the hardware capabilities of each supported device, ” reads the tweet from Konami.
In another tweet, they assure again that the game will use the capabilities offered by the current-generation consoles.
“We will make graphical adjustments to the mobile version but the next-generation graphics on consoles and PC will not be downgraded.”
The game is currently set to launch on September 15, 2021. It will be updated with post-launch content once it arrives on consoles, PC, and Smartphones.
