Nexon has announced that its upcoming dark fantasy MMORPG Embers of the Uncrowned will be part of Steam Next Fest this June, giving players their first chance to try the game through a large-scale playable demo.
The newly revealed demo is designed to showcase the game’s fast-paced isometric combat, dark fantasy world, and progression systems ahead of launch. According to Nexon, players can expect at least 180 minutes of gameplay to complete the main story content, while those aiming for maximum progression can spend more than 480 minutes exploring everything included in the demo.
The demo will feature three main story chapters and 34 side quests spread across multiple regions. Players will also gain access to several large-scale encounters, including 12 boss fights featuring Domain Bosses, Field Bosses, Defense of Spring encounters, and Raid Boss battles.
Exploration content includes three major regions alongside 10 additional areas that can be liberated and explored. Nexon also confirmed that multiplayer-focused matchmaking and open-field activities will be available during the demo period.
Players will be able to choose between three playable classes: Stormbringer, Executioner, and Spectral Blade. Each class features between 28 and 29 skills, supported by both active and passive progression systems. Nexon recently released gameplay showcase videos highlighting the combat styles of all three classes ahead of Steam Next Fest.
Beyond combat, the demo will also introduce several of the game’s progression and customization systems. Players can interact with the companion mechanic centered around a character named Eslyn, featuring 17 companion skills and affinity-based questlines. Cosmetic customization options will include 12 costume sets and 19 mounts.
Housing and management mechanics are also included in the playable build. Players will be able to construct and upgrade seven different building types used for research, crafting, trading, and enhancement systems. Additional progression systems tied to regional liberation and resource management will also be available.
Embers of the Uncrowned was recently unveiled by Nexon as a dark fantasy MMORPG combining brutal visuals with fast-paced action combat. The game’s Steam Next Fest demo will remain available through June 15, and players can currently wishlist the title on Steam.
