Epic Games Store’s upcoming free mystery game tied to The Game Awards 2025 may have surfaced early, according to a new claim from a reliable source. The platform is preparing to reveal its next free title during the awards show on December 11, marking the first time it has aligned a giveaway directly with the event. Speculation around the selection has been intensifying due to the complete absence of the usual teasers or early images, leaving room for rumor to take hold.
The most prominent suggestion comes from MeguminShiro, a well-known Epic Games Store leaker. Although noting a limited ability to follow updates recently, the leaker remarked that they were “currently hearing maybe LOTF or anything else,” indicating that Lords of the Fallen was one of the titles circulating in discussions.
This rumor emerged shortly after a separate wave of speculation incorrectly linked a cryptic statue teaser to Lords of the Fallen or its sequel. CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski addressed the issue directly, stating that the studio had no involvement in the image. Tyminski wrote, “Flattered so many think we’re behind that statue. Can confirm it’s not us, we’re just as hyped as you are. Devs are praying it’s something FROM.” He also emphasized the team’s admiration for FromSoftware and reassured fans that new material for both Lords of the Fallen and its sequel was on the way. He added that the studio had received strong feedback from the August trailer and that their next reveal would “step it up again.”
