Epic Games Marks Star Wars Day by Giving Away a Major Title for Free

by Ali Haider

To commemorate Star Wars Day on May 4th, the Epic Games Store is giving players another chance to claim one of the most content-rich entries in the LEGO franchise — LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga — completely free of charge. The offer is available until May 5 at 11 AM ET, providing players a limited-time window to relive the complete Skywalker saga across all nine mainline Star Wars films, reimagined through the iconic charm and humor of LEGO games.

This is not the first time the Epic Games Store has given away The Skywalker Saga, but for those who may have missed the previous promotion, this new opportunity aligns with the annual global celebration of all things Star Wars. Fans can download and keep the game permanently once it is claimed during the promotional window.

Developed by TT Games and originally released in 2022, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga stands out as the most ambitious LEGO game to date. It allows players to begin their adventure with any of the three trilogies and features over 300 playable characters from across the galaxy. The game boasts 23 explorable planets, over 100 controllable vehicles, and large-scale space battles, including the option to board and explore iconic capital ships like the Super Star Destroyer.

Combat has been reimagined from previous LEGO entries. Players can now string attacks into combos, utilize improved blaster mechanics, and wield the Force and lightsabers in refined, action-oriented gameplay. Additionally, the title incorporates RPG-like progression elements. By collecting Kyber Bricks throughout the galaxy, players can unlock new abilities and enhance their characters across a wide range of classes, including Jedi, Scavenger, Bounty Hunter, and more.

The digital version offered by Epic also includes an exclusive classic Obi-Wan Kenobi character, adding a nostalgic touch for long-time fans of both the LEGO and Star Wars franchises.

This promotion is part of Epic Games Store’s broader free game lineup for May 2025. The full list includes:

  • Super Space Club (May 1 to May 8)
  • Deadtime Defenders and Touch Type Tale (May 8 to May 15)

As always, those interested in claiming these titles should do so within the given timeframe, as availability is strictly limited.
