Steam has set a new all-time record for concurrent players, surpassing 43.5 million simultaneous users in October 2026. The milestone marks another year of growth for Valve’s PC gaming platform, which has continued to expand its peak player count over the past decade.

Steam’s October peak has increased from 41.6 million concurrent users in 2025 to 43.5 million in 2026. The platform recorded 38.1 million in October 2024 before seeing a sharper jump to 31.3 million in October 2023, compared with 30.2 million in 2022.

The longer-term figures show how much Steam’s player base has grown. Its October peak stood at 26.5 million in 2021 and 23.1 million in 2020, while the corresponding figures for 2019 and 2018 were 16.8 million and 16.3 million, respectively.

In October 2010, Steam reached a peak of only 2.9 million concurrent players. It climbed to 4.3 million in 2011, 5.4 million in 2012, and 6.8 million in 2013 before reaching 7.5 million in 2014. The platform crossed 12 million in October 2015 and reached 13 million a year later.
