Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil reboot has become the highest-grossing film in the franchise, reaching $320.2 million at the global box office after its latest international earnings. The film has surpassed Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, which previously held the franchise record with $314.1 million worldwide.
According to the latest box office figures, the 2026 horror film earned $54.3 million overseas during its fourth weekend, marking a 227% increase from the previous weekend. Strong debuts in China and Japan helped push its international total to $181.7 million across 64 markets.
The film has also accumulated $138.5 million in the United States, bringing its worldwide gross to $320.2 million. With a reported production budget of $75 million, excluding marketing costs, the reboot is now tracking toward a potential global total of $400 million.
Released in September 2026, the standalone reboot stars Austin Abrams and follows a medical courier caught in a sudden viral outbreak while attempting to deliver a package to a hospital in Raccoon City.
