Final Fantasy 1-6 Pixel Remaster Is Coming To PS4 and Nintendo Switch
ESRB has rated Final Fantasy 1-6 Pixel Remaster for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. They were previously available for PC and Mobile.
Final Fantasy 1-6 Pixel Remasters brings classic games to modern platforms. They offer improved sprites, quality-of-life changes, a rearranged soundtrack, and more. The remasters were released on PC beginning last year but no console release followed them.
Based on the recent listing by ESRB, it appears that fans won’t have to wait that long for an announcement as the games are rated for Nintendo Switch and PS4. Previously, ESRB only had a rating for the PC version.
During their launch, there was some criticism regarding the font used for the text, however, fans were able to mod a custom font to mitigate this issue.
The games were continuing to get post-launch updates that fixed issues. Some of the issues that were resolved with patches later included the issue with readability for the text.
While the first give games in the remaster retain their original details, Final Fantasy VI is a special case as some of the scenes in the game were retouched. They offer a 2D-HD style including the famous Opera scene.

Currently, there is no official announcement for these remasters but generally, when a game is rated by ESRB, it is followed by an announcement. Square Enix didn’t share any plans to get these games on PS4 and Nintendo Switch during the recently concluded The Game Awards so is possible that either they will drop the announcement on social media, or keep it for some upcoming event like a State of Play or Nintendo Direct.
