Final Fantasy VII Revelation Will Feature Hard Mode and Dynamic Difficulty From the Start

by Salal Awan

Final Fantasy VII Revelation will let players select Hard Mode from the beginning, alongside Dynamic Mode, which scales enemy strength to match the party’s level. Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed Dynamic Mode in a post, explaining that it is designed to maintain a consistent level of challenge throughout the game.

The game offers various difficulty settings for players to customize their experience. They can choose Hard for combat difficulty and Dynamic for enemy strength. Additionally, the adjustment screen includes options for Active Combat Style and Normal minigame difficulty. There’s also a feature for Main Scenario Level Sync. Players can modify these settings later through the Options screen in the main menu.

Hard Mode is described as the most challenging difficulty setting, intended for players who want to test their skills in every battle. Selecting it automatically sets the combat style to Active.

Dynamic Mode previously appeared in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, where enemy strength adjusts to the party’s level. Its inclusion in Revelation will allow players to maintain a challenge as they progress rather than relying solely on the standard difficulty settings.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the third and final entry in Square Enix’s remake trilogy. The game is scheduled to launch globally on April 8, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
