Previously, YouTuber j0nathan, who has previously shared several details regarding Assassin’s Creed Mirage, took to Twitter to confirm that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will feature microtransactions after the details shared by a recent rating had raised suspicion. The game had recently been rated in Germany by the USK. According to the details shared by the rating, the game contains options to purchase additional content directly, including bonus levels, skins, virtual coins, in-game currency, subscriptions, and upgrades (such as disabling advertising).

This had led to speculation that the game would feature microtransactions of some form. As a result, YouTuber j0nathan shared a screenshot of a never before seen gear pack, confirming that Assassin’s Creed Mirage would indeed contain microtransactions. The screenshot was later deleted in response to a report from the copyright holder, Ubisoft.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an action adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. It marks the thirteenth major installment and follows the success of its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, released in 2020. Mirage is set in 9th-century Baghdad, a time of anarchy in Samarra. The protagonist, Basim Ibn Ishaq, who players first met in Valhalla, embarks on a transformational journey from a street thief to becoming a valued member of the Assassin Brotherhood. The game is set to launch on Amazon Luna, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S.
