The games that have been confirmed to leave Xbox Game Pass in August, 2022 include Curse of the Dead Gods, Library of Ruine, among others.

Curse of the Dead Gods is a 2021 rogue-like video game developed by Passtech Games and published by Focus Home Interactive. The game’s early access period began in March 2020, and it was fully released for Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in February 2021.

The player controls an explorer in the game who must journey through three separate dungeons in pursuit of wealth, influence, and eternal life. Each of the dynamically created dungeons has dangerous dangers, traps, and hostile monsters. The player has access to new upgrades and acquires new weaponry as they go. Additionally, they gradually accumulate Jade Rings and Crystal Skulls, which may be used to buy enhancements that are permanent. The succeeding runs and trials automatically unlock these enhancements. There are 10 distinct weapon classes in the game. Weapon characteristics vary between types, and effects can be mixed. During fighting, players must also keep an eye on their stamina.

The game features a curse meter in addition to a life meter. The Curse meter grows as the player explores new areas, makes purchases with a blood sacrifice rather of actual money, or engages in nighttime combat with foes. Illuminating a room with braziers and torches helps to lessen the damage caused by darkness. Curses limit the player’s skills and provide new difficulties and possibilities.
