Sony Interactive Entertainment is currently working on a remastered version of the God of War Greek Saga, based on the latest rumor.

Chinese insider Lunatic Ignus took to Discord to share that Nixxes Software is working on a remastered version of the entire God of War Greek Saga, including God of War: Ascension. According to them, the compilation title will be revealed next year in March, 2025.

The source claims that all Greek mythology games from the God of War series are being remastered for the 20th anniversary of the series. This includes the original God of war, God of War 2, God of War 3, God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, and God of War: Ascension.

We encourage our readers to take all such rumors with a gran of salt until there is confirmation via official channels. That said, a Nixxes Software developer recently hinted at the studio working on more remasters after Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. They mentioned that, after five PC ports, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is the first big upcoming “PlayStation content” project from the studio, suggesting that it has other first-party remasters in the pipeline. if Lunatic Ignus’ rumor is to be believed, one of those remasters is the God of War Greek Saga.

While the Greek Saga may or may not get remastered, a brand new entry in the God of War series appears to be in development. Developer Santa Monica Studio had previously been looking to recruit someone with knowledge of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok (2022) combat systems, mechanics and enemies for the development of an unannounced title.

The most recent entry in the series, God of War Ragnarok, is one of the fastest selling first-party games from Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released for the PS4 and PS5 in November, 2023, and for PC in October, 2024.
