God of War Laufey pre-orders will open on September 29 at 10:00am local time, ahead of the game’s February 16, 2027 release on PlayStation 5. Santa Monica Studio has also detailed the pre-order bonuses, Digital Deluxe Edition and Faye’s new Serpent Bow weapon.
Players who pre-order God of War Laufey before launch will receive the Last Wish Armor Set, the Phranque Golden Leaves cosmetic appearance and an in-game resource pack. The Digital Deluxe Edition will include the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow Scales, Dark Alchemy Catalyst, another in-game resource pack, a digital mini artbook and the game’s digital soundtrack.
The latest details also provide a closer look at Faye’s combat abilities, including her new Serpent Bow. The enchanted weapon can rapidly switch between a dormant and ready state, allowing Faye to combine ranged attacks with her close-quarters abilities. The bow can also be customised with different Scales, which alter its appearance and provide unique perks.
Faye can use two distinct aiming styles with the Serpent Bow. Fully pressing the aim trigger activates Precision mode, giving her more accurate targeting and greater draw distance. She can target specific parts of enemies to hinder their movement or attacks, while charging the bow allows her to store up to five arrows for a powerful volley.
A half press activates the more mobile Hip-fire mode, allowing Faye to rapidly fire clusters of arrows at close range. This can also be used to juggle airborne enemies and extend combos as she switches between her weapons and abilities.
Players will be able to choose from different arrow types, including options focused on rapid fire, explosions and multiple targets. The Serpent Bow also has unlockable skills, while its Scales can specialise it around different playstyles.
Faye’s wider equipment can likewise be customised. Her armour provides different perks, stats and appearances, while her Blade can be modified for different elemental effects. Catalysts are powerful artefacts tied to the magic of the Everywhen and provide additional effects.
God of War Laufey launches on PlayStation 5 on February 16, 2027.
